Sometimes all you want is a basic simple phone that can make calls and deal with texts and not much more. Ideally it would be cheap so you don´t have to worry about being mugged for it, have long battery life so you don´t need to charge it every five minutes and sim-free so you can use it wherever you happen to be.
The Nokia 105 Sim-Free Mobile Phone fits the bill.
- You can put your sim card from any operator, in any country with compatible networks (UK and Spain are fine… though it is worth noting it works only with 2G networks) – tick.
- It´s definitely cheap and won´t be on the smartphone muggers must-have list – tick.
- Battery life is 12.5 hours talk time and a massive 842 hours standby – tick.
- And last but not least, surprisingly it can make calls and deal with texts – tick.
To back all of this up the Nokia 105 has a 1.4 inch RGB stripe colour screen and a durable, dust and splash-proof keypad. Extra features include programmable alarms, a speaking clock and even a handy torch function. It even has a built-in FM radio and comes loaded with up to five great games, including Sudoku and Cricket Cup.
If all you want is a basic phone then the cheap as chips Nokia 105 has got to be on your shopping list. And with a brand like Nokia behind it, you should be getting value for money too.
Please Note: The Nokia 105 is designed to use the new generation mini-SIM cards. As the name suggests these are smaller than traditional full size SIM cards. It is possible to modify a full size SIM card to fit (there are numerous guides on the web…), but you will then need an adapter in order to use the modified SIM card in another phone that uses a full size SIM.
