The D-Link Mobile Cloud Companion Wi-Fi Hotspot Device is a brand new and just on the market device aimed at all business and frequent holiday travellers out there.

And what an earth does the D-Link DIR-505 Mobile Cloud Companion Wi-Fi Hotspot Device do? Well, it isn´t a fluffy little cumulonimbus called Nigel that you carry around with you and tell all your secrets to, but a handy little device that you can create your own wi-fi hotspot with.

D-Link DIR-505 Mobile Cloud Companion Wi-Fi Hotspot Device - top viewThe D-Link Mobile Cloud Companion just needs a mains power point (fitted with UK plug, don´t forget a power adapter if you want to use in other countries) and a standard Cat5 cable for connection to an internet carrying Ethernet port. So if you´re away at a hotel with poor wi-fi internet, just connect the D-Link and you´re good to go!

You can access your new wireless network with any wireless device, and even using your iOS device (apple iPhone, iPad) or Android device using the freely available Mobile Cloud Companion App. It´ll even charge your iPhone or Android phone – electrifying!

The D-Link DIR-505 can operate in a number of different modes – Router/AccessPoint, Repeater or Wi-Fi HotSpot, so whatever you want your network to do it has a mode to do the job. And with D-Link´s One-Touch AP Configuration and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) connection is quick and easy.

And that’s not all. The D-Link can also act as a media and file sharing device. Connect your USB storage device to the D-Link and you´ll be sharing your media and files in no time – wirelessly. You can even sync and share music, videos and photos from your USB device to your iOS or Android device.
